WHITE OR AMALGAM FILLING?

White or composite fillings under no circumstances be considered as "poor" in comparison with amalgams. Mainly because it does not contain heavy metals such as mercury in amalgams. The trend in dentistry is "to avoid the metal in the mouth" and thus the toxicity of mercury in amalgam fillings.

The technique of making the white fillings in recent years has progressed to such an extent that it offers the highest quality solutions. In the aesthetic point of view white filling effect is far beyond of the less attractive image of gray amalgam filling. Patients with slightly higher aesthetic preferences, therefore, opt for white fillings.

Amalgam is a silver / black fill, which has been in use for many years. One of its components is also mercury. Numerous studies have shown that amalgam is harmful, so abroad for many years is no longer used for children and pregnant women. Today there are many non-amalgam materials in tooth color.
